👉 Akon Secures $6 Billion Contract for Cryptocurrency City

Senegalese-American singer Akon has secured a $6 billion contract with KE International to build his cryptocurrency-based Akon City.

The city is a 10-year project, which will eventually integrate businesses to run using Akon’s very own AKOIN cryptocurrency. It will also run completely on renewable energy, making it just the second LEED (Leader in Energy and Environmental Design) certified city in Africa.

👉 Thai Government to Issue Savings Bonds Using Blockchain

The debt management office of the Thailand finance ministry is reported to be issuing savings bonds to the public via a blockchain platform.

It has been stated that blockchain has enabled a low price to be set for the bonds, enabling wider participation in their purchase. 200 million Baht of bonds (worth USD$6.5 million) will be issued via the system.

The co-founder of 2017 ICO project Centra Tech has pleaded guilty today to  part in a fraud scheme, hit with charges including securities and wire fraud.

The ICO was promoted by notable celebrities Floyd Mayweather and DJ Khaled. Both celebrities settled charges relating to the scheme in 2018, after failing to disclose the payments they received for their promotion of the token sale.
