Apple has updated its App Store guidelines with new rules around non-fungible tokens (NFTs), essentially banning use for unlocking additional content or features within apps.
NFTs are often used in the cryptocurrency ecosystem to unlock token-gated content, which is reserved only for members of a particular NFT community.
The rule follows a previous claim from Apple that it would take a significant 30% cut on all NFTs sold in apps on its platform.
