👉 US Banks Given the Green Light to Hold Bitcoin by OCC
Large banks in the United States have been approved to begin holding cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin on behalf of their customers by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
The OCC’s new policy was laid out in an unaddressed letter published by the regulator this week, specifically stating that banks are authorized to “provide cryptocurrency custody services for customers”.
👉 Japanese Financial Services Agency Approves OMG Token
OMG Network’s cryptocurrency token (OMG) is now officially a regulated compliant cryptocurrency in Japan, following approval by their Financial Services Agency (FSA).
Its approval makes it the 26th cryptocurrency to date to pass the FSA’s regulatory screening. The platform, previously known as OmiseGo, is designed to enhance scalability of the Ethereum network.
