👉 Mastercard job postings hint at crypto wallet space

New job postings on the Mastercard website indicate that the payment-processing giant may be looking to build their own cryptocurrency wallet.

Job position titles and descriptions both explicitly mention cryptocurrency wallets, and require experience in the field.

It is not clear yet what these crypto wallet solutions will look like, however, nor if the positions have any association with Mastercard’s recent partnership with Facebook’s Libra project.

Data shows that network-securing computing power dedicated to Bitcoin has hit new highs once again, following a 10% surge from July 23.

The surge comes as more competition has appeared in the Bitcoin hardware mining market. Well-known Antminer models have been knocked off their top spot in miner profitability rankings, by MicroBT’s WhatsMiner M20 series.
