Bitcoin Gold falls prey to double spend attack

Bitcoin Gold is one of the more popular Bitcoin forks, currently sitting at #27 with a market cap of $784 million and a unit-cost of $46.

In an attack starting early last week, hackers managed to acquire a majority hashpower of the network, allowing them to double spend coins and stealing an estimated $19 million from exchanges.

Coinbase acquires Paradex trading platform

Paradex is a decentralized cryptocurrency exchange that allows users to trade ERC-20 tokens directly from their wallet.

On Wednesday this week, news came out that Coinbase would be acquiring Paradex for an undisclosed sum.

This is an interesting move to see from Coinbase, which has thus far specialized in providing a very centralized fiat-to-crypto exchange.

IBM plans to hire for blockchain in France

IBM needs no introductions; with almost 400,000 employees worldwide, news of another few thousand being hired doesn’t seem like a big deal.

However, recent plans show that IBM intends to hire 1800 employees in France, for, among other things, developing their own blockchain technologies.
