👉 Bitfinex & Tether Settle With NYAG For $18.5M
Bitfinex and Tether have settled with New York Attorney General’s (NYAG’s) office today, paying $18.5 million in penalties.
The lawsuit began in 2019 with the NYAG alleging that the two companies co-mingled funds to cover up $850 million lost to Crypto Capital, a payments processor.
Bitfinex and Tether have neither admitted to or denied any wrongdoing as part of the settlement.

Payments company Square has announced a new purchase of 3,318 BTC today, adding to reserves already held in Bitcoin from last October.
The figures place the average purchase price of the Bitcoin at around $51,235 per Bitcoin, which is currently at a loss.
