👉 Florida city pays $600k Bitcoin ransom
Two weeks ago, an employee of a Florida police department opened a malicious email. This allowed hackers to install ransomware that took over the city’s computer systems.
The hackers have demanded a ransom of $600 thousand. Just today, the city caved, paying the ransom to regain access to their systems.
👉 QuadrigaCX CEO lost 200m trading user funds
QuadrigaCX was the Canadian cryptocurrency exchange which went defunct earlier this year when CEO Gerald Cotten passed away in India, taking all access to the exchange’s funds with him.
However, new reports suggest that the CEO traded and lost more than 20,000 Bitcoin of user funds before passing away. This equates to more than $200 million at today’s prices.
