👉 Cambodia to Issue Government-Backed Digital Currency

Cambodia has become the latest country to announce plans to issue their own state-backed digital currency.

The project, named  “Project Bakong” is planned to go live within just months, with eleven commercial banks already on board.

The country hopes that the project will “make it easier for end-users to pay each other, regardless of which institutions they bank with”.

👉 Binance Launches Cardano (ADA) Perpetual Contracts 

Binance Futures has launched trading of ADA/USDT perpetual contracts, which will provide its users with up to 75x exposure on the fiat price of Cardano (ADA).

The contracts began trading on January 31, and made Binance Futures the first major derivative platform to offer an ADA perpetual contract.

A popular beach in Uruguay has introduced a plastics collection point, which rewards recyclers with cryptocurrency.

The cryptocurrency is possibly the first of its kind, and entitles holders to discounts and deals from selected retailers.
