A statement from the Central Bank of China has announced that research and development into their digital currency will continue well into the new year.

They claim to be making “smooth progress”, however a launch date for the central bank digital currency is still yet to be formally announced.

👉 Bloomberg: Bitcoiners Expect Halving Rally in 2020

A report by Bloomberg claims that Bitcoin investors are expecting a price rally this year, in anticipation of the upcoming halving event.

The halving is due to occur around May 18, and will cut the rate of inflation of Bitcoin from 50 to 25 Bitcoins per block.
