👉 Coinbase Explores Addition of 18 New Cryptocurrencies

Coinbase is considering adding up to 18 new cryptocurrencies to its platform, according to a blog post released today.

The assets currently under review include more-established favorites such as Siacoin, Digibyte and VeChain, as well as newer assets such as Ren and SKALE Network along with DeFi tokens LEND and COMP.

Coinbase is well-known for their rigorous evaluation and review process when it comes to adding new assets, which includes legal compliance, technical standards and more.

👉 Filecoin Announces Final Testing Phase Before Launch

Filecoin has announced the release of their “incentivized testnet” – the final testing phase before their mainnet launch, which is due to occur this summer.

The final testing phase is designed to stress-test the network, evaluating its ability to take on large quantities of data storage in a short amount of time.

Filcoin was one of the more significant ICOs in 2017, raising over $257 million in their token sale.

👉 Microsoft Identity System Launches on Bitcoin Network

Microsoft’s decentralized identity system, named “ION”, has been launched in beta on top of the Bitcoin network today.

The project runs as a second-layer on top of Bitcoin, and allocates each individual with a unique decentralized identifier, dubbed a “DID”. The aim of the platform is to decentralize message and application data, and give users the ability to own their identifiers, such as log-in details.
