👉 Coinbase opens for India and others

If you’re a European or American user, you might not believe it, but Coinbase — the major fiat on-ramp for the cryptocurrency ecosystem — hasn’t been available in a good part of the world.

Today, Coinbase opened its services to users in India, South Korea, New Zealand, and almost a dozen others. The users will be able to use Coinbase’s basic trading platform and their more advanced Coinbase Pro.

👉 Presidential candidate Yang calls for crypto clarity

Andrew Yang is the cryptocurrency advocate running for president in the 2020 elections. He’s been in the cryptocurrency space for quite some time, and has controversial ideas on political, economic, and environmental matters like universal basic income and climate change.

Yang has called for clearer cryptocurrency regulations, saying that regulations vary or don’t even exist across the states. He says as president he would push for clearer legislation in the space.

Bakkt is the Intercontinental Exchange’s foray into the cryptocurrency world, with high profile executives from the traditional financial and tech spaces chipping in to help the crypto world mature.

The team have hired a former Google and PayPal executive, Mike Blandina, as Chief Product Officer for Bakkt.
