Coinbase’s advanced trading platform Coinbase Pro will be sunsetted and merged into the main platform by the end of 2022, according to the publicly-traded exchange.

Coinbase Pro services will instead be migrated to “Advanced Trade” – a new trading section available on Coinbase.com, with the same features and volume-based fee structure.

The transition will take place gradually over several months, as the Advanced Trade feature continues to be developed and launched. Coinbase Pro customers will not have to take any manual action or move their funds.

Russian government-owned bank, VEB, has suggested the creation of a gold-backed stablecoin for international payments, in response to sanctions placed upon the country earlier this year.

VEB’s Institute of Research and Expertise teased the idea in a new report, which also states that the Russian Ministry of Finance needs to create a framework for how sanctioned Russian companies can use cryptocurrencies.

Mining difficulty on the Bitcoin network has fallen by 2.35% – its second-largest drop so far in 2022. The difficulty adjustment has also been accompanied by a 2.6% drop in hash rate, as more miners become unprofitable following bearish price action.

The single largest decrease in mining difficulty of the year came in late May, which saw a 4.33% decrease.
