The cryptocurrency market appears to have stood still over the last 24 hours, with Bitcoin shifting upwards by no more than a quarter of a percent. However, many altcoins are showing a mixed outlook: XRP and Ethereum are down three and one percent respectively, while Stellar and TRON are up three and five percent respectively.
Also of note, Tether has moved up a further few fractions of a percentage point, allowing it to finally reach its goal price of $1 when averaged across leading exchanges.

Coinbase opens OTC trading desk
Leading fiat-cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has long been a market leader for its services in the retail space, but in recent months they have taken a foray into the institutional space. Today, we saw another development in this direction.
Indeed, Coinbase has opened an OTC (“Over The Counter”) trading desk to facilitate larger trades between its institutional clients. Head of Sales Christine Sandler says “We launched our OTC business as a complement to our exchange business because we found a lot of institutions were using OTC as an on-ramp for crypto trading.”
Hackers infect charity with mining software
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a non-profit organization that “grants wishes” to terminally-ill children. From inviting famous music stars to the children’s homes and funding trips to Disneyland, Make-A-Wish is nothing but a well-hearted, charitable organization.
A report from earlier this week has unfortunately shown that the Make-A-Wish website was exploited by malicious hackers, who uploaded mining software that would use visitor’s computing power to mine coins. This is sure to upset customers and leave the organization with bigger bills.
NYSE Chairman says crypto is here to stay
Jeffrey Sprecher is not only the CEO of ICE (The Intercontinental Exchange), but also the Chairman of world-renowned New York Stock Exchange. Of course, its ICE’s baby Bakkt that it set to launch soon and hopefully bring a new wave of money to the crypto space.
Sprecher has said “unequivocally” that digital assets are here to stay, earlier this week at the Consensus Invest conference. Bakkt is on its way regardless of price, he added.
