Most cryptocurrencies have slumped coming out of the weekend. While Bitcoin is down less than 1.5%, most other cryptocurrencies among the top-20 are down by more than 5-6%. This includes Ethereum, down 3.82%, Ripple, down a more significant 6.85%, and IOTA, down more than 8%.

Significant currencies in the green include Bytecoin, number 23 by market cap and up 15.59%, and 0x, number 27 by market cap and up 3.71%.

Coinbase opens Portland HQ

Coinbase is an ultra popular fiat-crypto exchange around the world. It offers a small handful of the many cryptocurrencies out there, but has made it easy for so many users to get their toes wet.

The San Francisco company is looking to expand, and that’s starting with a brand new headquarters for the company, which will be located in Portland.

Waves reaches 1 million users

The Waves platform is a cryptocurrency project that’s focused on easy, multi-coin investment. It features not only a cryptocurrency wallet, but also a decentralized exchange built on the Waves blockchain itself.

The Waves platform has officially reached 1 million users, meaning that it’s quadrupled in the 12 months since last September.

Vitalik trashes EOS’ governance

Ethereum and EOS are no doubt two competing blockchain protocols. They’ve both got their own blockchains and they both feature smart contracts for the same purposes.

Vitalik Buterin, creator of Ethereum, has spoken out against EOS‘ unique, on-chain governance system — which has been criticized by many users before.
