👉 Cryptopia opens withdrawals following hack

Earlier this year, New Zealand-based cryptocurrency exchange Cryptopia was hacked. This resulted in the loss of more than $20 million of Ethereum and other ERC20 tokens, and forced the exchange to freeze deposits and withdrawals for an extended period of time.

Today, Cryptopia made the decision to reopen their withdrawals, allowing users to take previously-trapped funds off of the exchange. Many users are impressed with how Cryptopia have handle the situation, with an overwhelming majority “willing” to give the platform a second chance.

👉 Binance looks to regulatory compliance

Almost all financial institutions (of any kind) are subject to lots of regulation. However, until now, Binance has focused on the exchange of cryptocurrencies only — and not fiat currencies — resulting in a significantly reduced amount of regulation.

Binance has recently announced its plans to expand into new fiat-friendly trading pairs. Existing functionality allows users to purchase cryptocurrency with debit cards, but there could soon be the possibility to sell cryptocurrency for fiat currencies.
