The Department of Justice (DOJ) has stated that an independent review is necessary in the bankruptcy case of FTX due to allegations of fraud and dishonesty.

Andrew Vara, the U.S. bankruptcy trustee for the case, has said that Sam Bankman-Fried and his team may have mismanaged the company or potentially engaged in fraudulent conduct.

Decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol Ankr said it will reimburse the users impacted by the $5 million exploit that occurred on its platform earlier Friday.

The attacker exploited a weakness in the code of Ankr, allowing them to mint 6 quadrillion aBNBc tokens. They were then able to convert these tokens into approximately 5 million USDC.

Ankr stated that it would take a snapshot of the situation and reissue ankrBNB to all valid aBNBc holders. The ankrBNB token will continue to be redeemable, but aBNBc and aBNBb will no longer be redeemable.
