👉 European Union Gives New AML Agency Oversight On Crypto

The European Union is reportedly planning to give its new anti-money laundering agency oversight of cryptocurrency-related companies.

Operations could take up to two years to be implemented, as German officials lead the charge with assistance from Italy, Austria, Spain, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. The move has been attributed to concerns over cryptocurrency being used to open up new ways to funnel illicit funds.

👉 StarkNet Layer 2 Scaling Platform Launches On Ethereum

StarkNet, a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum, has been officially launched for the deployment of decentralized apps.

The platform was created by StarkWare, who have hosted the decentralized derivatives platform dYdX and other projects on a permissioned version of StarkNet since last year.

Attorney Joseph Hall, a former executive from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has expressed that he believes the agency may lose its lawsuit against Ripple.
