👉 FinCEN Extends Commenting Period For New Crypto Rule

The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) has extended the commenting period on its new proposed crypto wallet rule.

The rulemaking period will be extended for an extra 15 days, as well as another 45 days for requirements on record-keeping and counterparty reporting.

The proposed rule was highly controversial among the community, in part due to the speed with which it was being pushed through the process.

👉 Ledger Customers Reporting Violent Threats Following Data Leak

Several customers of popular hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger have reported receiving violent threats via email, following the leak of more than 20,000 customers’ personal details.

Many of the emails demand for a ransom payment to be paid in cryptocurrency, with the threat of “consequences” to the customers and their loved ones.

👉 Tether’s Bank Deltec Purchased Large BTC Position For Clients

Deltec, who provide banking services for stablecoin company Tether, have been reported to hold a large Bitcoin position for clients.

According to Deltec CIO Hugo Rogers, the position was purchased at a price of $9,300 – however the timing of the investment was not disclosed.
