👉 South African Bank to Shut Down Accounts Related to Crypto

FirstRand, a major South African bank, has sent letters to cryptocurrency exchanges and related businesses, to inform them that their accounts will be terminated.

The move appears to be the beginning of a “de-risking” procedure, which specifically targets cryptocurrency trading.

👉 French Cybercrime Division Using Tezos Smart Contracts

A press release has shown that The French Armies and Gendarmerie’s Information and Public Relations Center has used the Tezos blockchain for validating investigation expenses.

The system was used to buy cryptocurrency from Europol-allocated funds to cover operational costs, and is claimed to be the first smart contract developed by a public authority.

👉 Poloniex Exchange is Closing US Accounts

Poloniex has sent out an email, warning that it will be shutting down accounts for US-based traders.

Traders based in the US have until December 16th to withdraw assets held in their Poloniex accounts.
