👉 Governments Concerned About Sanctions Evasion Using Crypto, Despite No Evidence

Officials across the US and Europe have been voicing their concerns about Russia using cryptocurrency to evade sanctions, despite little to no evidence of it occurring.

Major western publications including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and others have all recently run sensationalized headlines about the topic. The rhetoric has also been publicly shared by senator Elizabeth Warren and French finance minister, Bruno Le Maire.

Although ruble-denominated crypto trading has seen a notable increase, this only equates to millions of dollars in trading volume – an insignificant quantity to represent real sanctions evasion.

Shake Shack will begin offering Bitcoin as a reward to customers when they make purchases using the Cash App digital wallet. Customers who use the Cash App debit card will get 15% of their purchase back in Bitcoin.
