π Grayscale’s GBTC Reaches Largest Discount Ever
The Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) has reached its largest discount of all time, now trading at 35.26% below the instrument’s net asset value.
GBTC has been trading at a discount since the beginning of 2021, with its previous lowest point at a -34% discount in June of this year. The company has been persistent in attempting to convert the trust into an exchange-traded fund (ETF), which the SEC continues to deny.
π GPU Prices Fall To New Lows In China Following Ethereum Merge
Prices of certain graphics cards have fallen to new low lows in China, following Ethereum’s “Merge” to proof-of-stake β a direct result of the end of mining on the network.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 cards have fallen from 8,000 CNY to 5,000 CNY within three months according to one Chinese merchant, with several other online platforms showing several-hundred yuan discounts.
π Australia To Complete CBDC Pilot Next Year
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has released a white paper for its central bank digital currency (CBDC) pilot, with plans to complete the program sometime next year.
The pilot is designed to explore innovative use cases that would be supported by a CBDC. Australia began its CBDC research project in July this year, with the official name of the likely new currency being “eAUD”.
