π 20,000 Stores Including 7-Eleven and CVS to Sell Bitcoin via Libertyx
Libertyx have added 20,000 stores to its network, now enabling customers to purchase Bitcoin at 7-Eleven, CVS, and Rite Aid stores in the US. All of the new locations will accept cash for Bitcoin.
The company already had a foothold in the cryptocurrency purchasing space, with 5,000 debit card-accepting ATMs, cashiers, and kiosks around the country. The addition of the new cash-accepting locations brings the total number of Libertyx locations to 25,000.
π New York Regulators Look to Relax Cryptocurrency Regulation
New York regulators are reportedly looking to relax regulation and licensing rules for cryptocurrency businesses in the state.
The New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) has proposed new licensing rules for crypto businesses, and are seeking public input on the new legislation.
The changes are designed to make it easier for businesses to acquire the state’s “BitLicense”, which only 25 companies have managed to obtain over a 5-year span.
π Telegram to Pay $18.5M in Penalties to SEC, Ending Dispute
The legal dispute between Telegram and the SEC is drawing to a close, with a final judgement ordering Telegram to pay $18.5 million in penalties.
Telegram will have 30 days to pay the penalty, and have three years to pay back investors the funds placed into the project, totaling about $1.2 billion.
