👉 Facebook’s Libra Re-brands to “Diem” To Escape Initial Response

Facebook’s Libra stablecoin project has re-branded to the new name “Diem”, likely in an effort to shake off its initial impression made with regulators.

The Diem Association says the new name denotes a “new day” for the project, and continues to pursue a “safe, secure and compliant payment system” for people around the world.

The project announced that it would be launching a version of their stablecoin next January, which would initially be pegged exclusively to the US dollar.

SEC papers have revealed that NYDIG, a cryptocurrency asset manager, raised $100 million from a single investor for its new cryptocurrency-focused fund.
