👉 Liechtenstein bank grows traffic 9x with crypto
Bank Frick is a small, Lichtenstein-based bank with a meagre $4 billion in assets under management. In 2017, the bank made it clear that it was to start facilitating cryptocurrency trading and holding for its customers.
Since then, search engine tool Ahrefs has reported a 900% increase in organic traffic to the bank’s website. It’s believed that the bank’s revenues have also risen significantly.
👉 Fake Brave browser scam begins circulating
The cryptocurrency space is very conducive to scams, since it’s easier and safer to steal cryptocurrencies than it is many other kinds of assets. A new phishing scam is on the rise, and this time it’s targeting the crypto-browser Brave.
The scam involves sending Brave users an “upgraded” version of the browser, with a 30 BAT bounty for doing so. Of course, the browser users end up downloading is simply malware designed to steal users’ cryptocurrencies.
👉 BitFinex accused of locking users’ funds
In recent weeks, quite a few cryptocurrency exchanges have seen allegations that they’re employing excessive AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and KYC (Know Your Customer) procedures in order to effectively lock up users’ funds.
A Reddit user has just accused BitFinex of doing the same, on an account which is said to contain more than $700 thousand of cryptocurrency.
