👉 Microstrategy Discloses New $50M BTC Purchase

Business intelligence company Microstrategy has disclosed another significant Bitcoin purchase, with a $50M purchase at an average price of $19,427 per coin.

The purchase brings Microstrategy’s total Bitcoin holdings to 40,824 BTC, currently worth around $766.6 million.

The announcement was made post-purchase on Friday, by CEO Michael Saylor.

👉 Hong Kong Discussing Cross-Border Payments With PBoC

Hong Kong’s central banking institution, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, is reportedly in talks with the People’s Bank of China (PBoC) regarding cross-border payments with the new digital yuan.

A pilot program is on the cards, which is expected to go smoothly given the renminbi already having a presence in the country. According to the PBoC, the digital yuan – having the same status – will be easily substituted-in.

Scalabilty-focused blockchain Solana has experienced a 6-hour network outage right before the weekend, prompting a mixture of support and criticism from the community.

200 Solana validators – 80% of the network – had to participate in a restart process in order to solve the issue, after which the blockchain began to run smoothly again.
