There are more Bitcoin addresses or keys with at least one satoshi (non-zero balance) than ever before.
The number of non-zero or plus balance rose to a record high of 38,351 on Jan. 21, as per data source Glassnode. The previous record high of 28,190 was registered in January 2018.
Plus balances rose by 26% in 2019 alongside a 95 percent rise in price.
Some on-chain experts think the rise in the number of Bitcoin addresses with a positive balance is a tell-tale sign of increased adoption across the world.
However, each address does not necessarily represent a single user, given an individual or an exchange can have multiple wallets and addresses.
