Payments giant PayPal has begun to allow US users to pay millions of merchants in cryptocurrency, with no transaction fees.
It is worth clarifying that the merchants themselves do not actually receive cryptocurrency as payment – instead, the crypto is converted to fiat currency at the moment of purchase.
The feature is planned to be rolled out to non-US users in the coming months, with access to 29 million global merchants.
