👉 Polygon Active Addresses Surpass Those On Ethereum

Ethereum scaling solution Polygon has surpassed Ethereum itself in terms of unique daily addresses, after an explosion in growth over the last 30 days.

Unique daily addresses on Polygon have reached a record of 566,516, following a 168% increase for the month. Ethereum posted a total of 527,158 unique active addresses on the same day.

Polygon’s popularity has been attributed to its faster and cheaper transactions, as well as its Ethereum virtual machine  (EVM) compatibility.

👉 IMF Releases Policies To Curb Crypto Financial Risks

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has published a set of policies focused on cryptocurrency, in an effort to mitigate risks to global financial stability.

The report urges policymakers to “implement global standards for crypto assets” and “”enhance their ability to monitor the crypto ecosystem”. Both Bitcoin and stablecoins were singled out in the paper.

👉 6,000 Coinbase User Accounts Compromised Via MFA Bug

A bug in Coinbase’s multi-factor authentication (MFA) process has been revealed to have been exploited earlier this year, resulting in the access to at least 6,000 user accounts.

Attackers managed to obtain access to the accounts, resulting in user funds being stolen and moved off the exchange. Coinbase has promised to repay affected users equally to the amount lost.
