👉 Portugal: zero tax rate for crypto payments

Until now, pretty much every European country has declared there will be some kind of tax to pay on cryptocurrency earnings and payments. The most crypto-friendly country is by far Malta, which has no tax on crypto payments or crypto income.

In a recently-request tax clarification, the Portuguese tax authorities have ruled a zero tax rate on cryptocurrencies to match the favorable conditions in Malta. VAT will not apply to crypto payments and no income tax is to be paid on cryptocurrency.

👉 Travala adds XMR as payment option

Travala.com is a cryptocurrency-friendly travel broker with over half a million properties on its website. It accepts payments in a number of fiat and crypto- currencies.

Today, Travala announced that it would be adding Monero (XMR), the popular privacy coin, as a native payment option.

👉 Binance CEO criticized for trading advice

Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao is an avid Twitter user, and like Tesla founder and Twitter fan Elon Musk, he’s not always too careful with what he says.

Zhao has been criticized for telling users not to short Binance Coin, the exchange’s proprietary cryptocurrency, when it was worth almost $29 one month ago. Currently, the coin is trading at $22.50.
