A report by Fortune claims that Ripple will be sued by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for the alleged sale of unlicensed securities.
The security at hand, of course, is Ripple’s XRP token. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has taken to Twitter to argue against the move, labeling it as an “attack” on crypto.

Business intelligence company MicroStrategy has completed a new purchase of 29,646 Bitcoins, using funds from its recent convertible note sale.
The company raised $650 million through a sale of senior convertible notes in early December, which can be converted into shares in the company.

Cryptocurrency exchange Huobi is set to make a re-entry into the US market, following a recent acquisition of a trust license in Nevada.
