👉 South Korea Cements Pro-Crypto Law Amendment

South Korea has finalized an amendment to its Special Information Financial Law, which will solidify its cryptocurrency regulatory framework at an international standard.

The move will legitimize all businesses related to cryptocurrency, but require exchanges in the country to register and obtain licenses from Korean authorities.

👉 Bitcoin Hashrate Dropped by 50% Within a Week

Bitcoin hashrate – a measure of network power and security – has almost halved in the space of a week, from from 124,250, 397 TH/S to 82,285,031.

According to one source, miner break-even cost is $7,750, leading to several miners shutting down business. This break-even cost is expected to increase further, following the reward halving event in May.

👉 Argentinean Gas Regulator Approves Smart-Contract Certification Pilot

Argentinean regulators have approved a pilot program presented by gas distributor Gasnor, which will use smart-contracts to hasten and secure the country’s gas certification processes.

The blockchain platform, named Gasnet, runs on an enterprise version of the RSK smart contract network and aims to bring consumer gas services online faster.
