👉 Twitter Web App Shows Possible “Twitter Coin” Integration
Twitter may be developing a native cryptocurrency and integrating crypto payments, according to security researcher Jane Manchun Wong.
Wong found code for a vector image depicting a “Twitter Coin” in a recent version of the Twitter Web App, and also discovered a “Coins” section within the platform’s “Tips” feature. However, it is not known if Twitter is actively working on these features.
Twitter CEO Elon Musk has previously expressed interest in incorporating crypto into the platform.
👉 USDC Stablecoin Company Circle Cancels Plan To Go Public
USDC stablecoin issuer Circle has canceled its deal with special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) Concord Acquisition Corp, a move that would have helped the company to go public.
Circle has previously announced that it would go public in July of last year, at a valuation of $4.5 billion. This valuation doubled when the companies amended the terms of their deal earlier this year.
👉 Bybit & Swyftx Become Latest Exchanges To Cut Workforce
Bybit and Swyftx have announced job cuts due to the downturn in the crypto market, with 30% of Bybit’s staff expected to be laid off.
The move comes after the bankruptcy of crypto lender BlockFi and struggles faced by crypto brokerage Genesis.
Bybit CEO Ben Zhou said the cuts were necessary for the “long-term sustainability” of the trading platform. Swyftx did not disclose the number of job cuts it plans to make.
