👉 Bitcoin breaches $8000 mark

Bitcoin has been trading in a downwards trend for more than a year, but the last few weeks have seen a reversal of that trend. Now, Bitcoin has jumped from below $4000 to above $5000, $6000, and $7000.

With its 7% gain on the 24 hour charts, Bitcoin is now sitting just above the $8000 mark!

👉 Whole Foods to accept cryptocurrency

A major barrier in the adoption of cryptocurrencies has been the inability to easily spend them in everyday retail stores. Many solutions have been put forward, but only a few have come close to success.

Now, thanks to the release of an app called Spedn, users will be able to pay with Bitcoin and three other cryptocurrencies at major retailers including Whole Foods and Nordstrom. The app can be placed against a regular payment terminal, working similarly to Apple Pay.

👉 Bakkt to launch this Summer

Bakkt is the Intercontinental Exchange-backed cryptocurrency trading platform. It’s been delayed a few times so far, due to dithering on behalf of US regulators.

Bakkt has set its newest target for launch. The platform hopes to launch by July, with Bitcoin futures trading and custody planned for that time.
