👉 Details Released On SEC vs Ripple Lawsuit
Details have become available for the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s lawsuit against Ripple, which was filed in federal district court in Manhattan.
The SEC is alleging that Ripple’s XRP token is classified as a security and that the token has been sold via an unregistered, ongoing securities offering since 2013.
The suit also alleges that Ripple founders and executives failed to register their own personal XRP sales, which are estimated at $600 million.
👉 Crypto Exchange EXMO Claims 6% Of Assets Lost In Hack
UK-based cryptocurrency exchange EXMO has updated estimates for losses from its recent hack, saying that 6% of its crypto assets were taken.
EXMO previously placed the estimate at 5%, and say they assume the hacker obtained access to private keys. Six major assets were stolen in the attack.
👉 Bitcoin-Related Tweets Reach Yearly High
The number of Tweets containing the word “Bitcoin” have reached a yearly high of 428,280 on December 20th, nearing almost double of around the same time a year ago.
The number is also 43% higher than just a week ago. Data shows that the metric also reached highs around the first time Bitcoin broke the $20,000 mark.
